You retain 100% full ownership of any document, book, or note you upload to RodaRead. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your private study materials to train public AI models. You agree to use the service lawfully and in accordance with copyright regulations.
1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to RodaRead ("RodaRead," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and RodaRead. By accessing, browsing, registering for an account, or using the RodaRead web application, mobile interfaces, or associated services (collectively, the "Platform"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you are strictly prohibited from accessing or using the Platform.
2. Eligibility & Account Registration
To access and use RodaRead, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum legal age required in your country of residence to consent to digital services). If you are between the ages of 13 and 17, you confirm you have obtained the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
- All registration information you submit (including name and email address) is accurate, current, and complete.
- You will maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials and accept full responsibility for all activities conducted under your account.
3. User Content & Intellectual Property
3.1 Your Ownership Rights
You retain full, exclusive, and unencumbered intellectual property ownership of all documents, digital books (PDF, EPUB, TXT), physical book photo captures, notes, annotations, and study materials that you upload or input into the Platform ("User Content"). RodaRead claims zero ownership over your User Content.
3.2 Limited Operational License Granted to RodaRead
Solely for the technical operation of providing the Platform to you, you grant RodaRead a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, limited license to host, store, parse, generate text-to-speech audio streams, and render synchronized visual highlights of your User Content strictly for your personal, private use.
RodaRead does not use, license, publish, or distribute your private uploaded documents, notes, or reading transcripts to train or fine-tune public Artificial Intelligence models.
3.3 User Copyright Warranty
You represent and warrant that you hold all necessary legal rights, licenses, or applicable Fair Use / Educational exemptions under copyright law to convert, format-shift, and listen to the documents and materials you upload. You agree not to upload any material that infringes upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
4. Automated Web & YouTube Transcript Tools
The Platform provides user-directed utilities that allow you to paste publicly accessible YouTube links and web URLs to extract text transcripts for personal reading and listening assistance. You acknowledge that RodaRead operates solely as a technological tool acting at your direct command. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your personal use of public transcripts complies with relevant third-party platform terms and applicable fair use laws.
5. Synthetic Voice & Neural Speech Technology
All voice audio generated by RodaRead is synthesized using digital neural speech models. These synthetic voices are computer-generated audio personas and do not represent, imitate, or imply endorsement by any real human voice actor, celebrity, or public figure. Voice playback is licensed for your private, non-commercial listening enjoyment.
6. Subscriptions, Payments & Fair Use
RodaRead offers Free, Standard, and Pro subscription tiers. Paid tiers are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual basis via certified payment partners (including Flutterwave and Paystack). All billing terms, quota allocations, 7-day initial refund eligibility, and cancellation procedures are governed by our Subscription, Billing & Refund Policy.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:
- Uploading malicious software, viruses, or corrupted document files.
- Attempting to probe, reverse-engineer, decompile, or compromise RodaRead's cloud infrastructure or security layers.
- Using automated scrapers, bots, or extraction scripts to harvest data or overwhelm platform compute resources.
- Distributing or publicly broadcasting generated audio for unauthorized commercial resale or mass copyright piracy.
8. Disclaimers of Warranties
The Platform, neural audio synthesis, and Studio AI study tools are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. RodaRead does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, instant server warm-up times, or that AI-generated summaries will be free of inadvertent inaccuracies. Studio AI tools are cognitive study aids, not accredited professional, medical, financial, or legal advisors.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall RodaRead, its founders, affiliates, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of academic standing, or business interruption. RodaRead's total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to RodaRead in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
10. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall first be submitted to good-faith informal negotiation between the parties for a period of thirty (30) days. If unresolved, the dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Nigeria.
11. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to revise and update these Terms at any time. When changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the Platform following any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
